Backyard Beekeeping For The Curious: Summer Dearth

Curious about keeping honey bees in your backyard and missed our first session? Due to high demand, we are offering a second class with Ian Campbell, a backyard beekeeper, certified apprentice beekeeper, and member of the SC State Beekeepers Association. This class is just that…for the curious! No experience necessary.

In this class, you’ll learn more about summer dearth and what this means for local bee populations, in addition to how planting native perennial plants can help sustain bee populations that are more vulnerable due to waning blooms of late summer.

Each participant will go home with a native perennial to encourage their own bee population.
